Long-time Rotarian Ed Pullen won the big prize at the Puyallup South Hill Rotary Gold and Silver Raffle recently held at the Pioneer Park Pavilion.
Anticipation grew throughout the evening as emcee and South Hill Rotarian Rick Hansen announced each of the numbers. After attempting to reach the final three potential winners by telephone, drawing continued until the very last ticket was drawn. That ticket was purchased by Rotarian Ed Pullen. Pullen, who was not present at the drawing received a phone call from Emcee Hansen notifying him that he was the winner. Pullen has chosen to accept his winnings in the form of a check. Numbers were drawn from a treasure chest by Puyallup South Hill Rotarian Bryan Jeter. The event was chaired by President-Elect Joseph Romeo.
As each number was drawn, one of our local Daffodil princesses pinned the number to one of the boards in the front of the room. Prizes were also awarded for the person holding the first ticket, the $250th ticket, and the 500th ticket. Interspersed among the raffle were several door prizes which were awarded to various attendees in the room. Kathy Kucera coordinated the raffle prize drawings.
Event attendees were also treated to hors d’oeuvres donated and prepared by local restaurants including Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, Food Services of America, HG Bistro, and Tibbitts@Fern Hill. Tim Mellema, owner of the Forum Restaurant coordinated the food and the beverages for the event.

Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales will benefit transitional housing for local homeless families, student scholarships, and other projects supported by Puyallup South Hill Rotary.
