The leaves are turning, the temperatures are cooling, and the days are getting shorter. Yes, summer is winding down, and fall and winter are in view.

As the seasons change, our thoughts turn to the holidays and the season of giving. And this year, the need in our community has never been greater. Families are in need of warm blankets, coats and mittens, meals, school supplies, and other things that we all look forward to during these coming months.

Committed to Community

Puyallup South Hill Rotarians have again committed themselves to providing food, gifts, and toys to help our neighbors in the months ahead. We hope to provide school supplies and books as our children and teens head back to school. We want to give warm blankets, mittens, scarfs, sox, and hats to our families to provide warmth and protection against the coming cool days. We want to give food to provide for daily needs as well as dinners for families to enjoy during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and winter holidays. And of course, we want to provide toys and gifts to help make the holiday season special for our children.

As a Club, we have committed to support children and families from four organizations: Emerald Ridge High School Interact Club, Helping Hand House, Communities in Schools (CIS) Puyallup, and the Salvation Army.

That is where you come in. In the past, we have collected and delivered toys and food to families in need. We have filled kettles and rung the bells for the Salvation Army. Due to COVID restrictions this year, however, we have decided that we will spend October, November, and December collecting money so that we can provide financial support to Interact, Helping Hand House, CIS, and the Salvation Army as they provide those things to families in need.

We are asking all our members and friends to make financial donations by clicking on the HOLIDAY HOPE button below. That will bring you to our donation page where you can make a financial contribution to this fund.

You can also mail a check to the Club at PO Box 966, Puyallup WA 98371. Mark your check for HOLIDAY HOPE.

We hope that through our HOLIDAY HOPE giving campaign this year, we will be able to provide even more for the many children and families in our community. All contributions are tax-deductible.
